During the past few months there has been an explosion of services provided via a variety of online platforms. We will discuss how professionals can help families teach new skills, while also providing direct services for their learners. The Pyramid Approach has been successfully deployed to improve staff oversight and we will discuss how a similar set of guidelines can help guide caregivers to provide meaningful lessons at home, including skills related to PECS. The broad model involves reviewing a set of strategies that rely upon modifying conditions associated with critical behaviors. These conditions will include some that occur before key actions as well as considering various strategies related to the outcomes of those actions. Participants will leave the training with practical skills to provide meaningful feedback to caregivers, as well as creative ideas to improve direct teaching interactions with their learners.
